Dua Lipa Dua Lipa, an English singer-songwriter was born in London, on the 22nd of August 1995. Her self-titled debut was released in 2017, after she been signed by Warner Bros Records. The album peaked at number. 3 on the U.K. Charts. There were eight songs released such as Be the 1 I.D.G.A.F., and New Rules. In the United States it peaked as number 6. Lipa's album, which has since been recognized as Platinum in several nations around the globe, won her two Brit Awards (in the year of 2018) for British female single artist and British Breakthrough artist. Dua lipa was born 22nd August 1995, in London with Kosovo Albanian Anesa Rexha, and Dukagjin Lipa. As a result of her maternal grandparent Dua Lipa, she is Bosnian. Her ancestors can also be tracked back to the Kosovo cities of Peja. Lipa's grand-fathers were both history professors. She has a brother Gjin Lipa and a sister Rina. Lipa was influenced musically by her father who was the lead singer and guitarist of the Kosovan rock band Oda. His father would play music at home, and included songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa was barely five when she began singing. At the age of nineteen she began singing at Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa has covered If I Ain't Got You and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera, both on YouTube. Lipa was given a recording contract from Warner Bros. Records in 2014. Her debut single New Love was released in August of 2015.
